The Planets
There are eight plantet
in our Solar System:
1. Mercury
2. Venus
3. Earth
4. Mars
5. Jupiter
6. Saturn
7. Uranus
8. Neptune
The planets move around the Sun
REMEMBER:
* The Sun is a star.
* The Sun is in the centre of the Solar System.
* The planets move around the Sun.
* The Earth is a planet.
* We live on the Earth.
The Earth has 2 movements:
1. Rotation: It takes 24 hour to turn around itself.
2. Revolution: It takes 365 days (one year) to complete one travel around the Sun
Day and night
The Earth is always turning on its axis.
This movement is called rotation and it is the reason we have day and night.
Seasons and years
There are 4 seasons in a year:
1. Spring
2. Summer
3. Autumn (or fall)
4. Winter
The Moon moves around the Earth
A satellite is an object that moves around a planet or a star.
The Moon is a satellite because it moves around the Earth.
The different shapes the Moon has, are called PHASES OF THE MOON
